The hottest rooftop bars in New York

Spring is in the air; you can feel it all around! Happy people on the streets Kids playing on the playgrounds, outside lunches on squares, recline in parks, workouts along the Hudson River, roller-skaters and music in Central Park, and…. Rooftop Bars are open again. Everybody wants to be outside after a strong winter. It doesn’t matter whether you are tourist or local; Rooftop Bars are very popular. That’s the reason why I listed the hottest Rooftop Bars in New York for this great time of the year;

Ever wondered where you can find NYC’s largest Rooftop Garden? The answer can be found at 230 Fifth. I’ve been here so many times, that I lost counting. Such a relaxed atmosphere. 230 Fifth is a lounge with red velvet banks, a cool bar, big windows and they offer a full food menu. The Rooftop Garden has breath-taking views of the NYC skyscrapers and has large umbrellas for rainy days or hot sunny days. At cooler days they heat the Rooftop. Actually winter or summer, you can always visit 230 Fifth.

Flatiron | 230 Fifth (Corner 27th St on 5th Ave)

In 2010, one of the finest Manhattan Rooftop Lounges was opened at the top of the INK48 Hotel. A beautiful pool, fancy cocktails, great views of Manhattan and the New Jersey skyline are making this Rooftop very exclusive. rated it as one of the top Rooftops in the world and Urban Daddy named The Press Lounge as the Perfect ’10 for 2010.

Last summer was my first time at the Press Lounge. On a hot summer day, we had a great night with friends, ordered (too many) cocktails and enjoyed the view. The Press Lounge is located in Hell’s Kitchen, along the Hudson, has an clear view of the skyline, and that’s why it’s a whole different experience than 230 Fifth, located in the ‘center’ of Manhattan surrounded by skyscrapers.

Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown West | 653 11th Ave (bet. 47th St & 48th St)

Located on the 18th floor, this crazy Rooftop-Bar, Le Bain, in Meatpacking District. Young and trendy folks, a state of the art sound system, a seasonal plunge pool, a crêperie and inspiring city views define this grass “covered” Rooftop. Perfect if you want to party and have fun with friends, but less suitable when you want to drink some cocktails and have some nice conversations with your friends, family or date. Maybe you find some difficulties with the doorman, but once you are inside you can certainly feel the special vibe. I did.

Meatpacking District, West Village | 848 Washington St (bet. 13th St & Little W 12th St)

The Refinery Rooftop is the crown jewel of the Refinery Hotel. Located in the historic Garment District of Manhattan and also, like 230 Fifth, surrounded by skyscrapers in the center of Manhattan. This Rooftop can be a perfect place for business events or parties, because they offer the opportunity to organize your event on a part of the Rooftop. Last year I organized the launch of my DY Jewelz Spring Summer 2014 collection on this beautiful Rooftop.

Midtown West | 63 W 38th St (bet. 5th Ave & Avenue of the Americas)

There is nothing more magical than watching the sunset with friends from almost one hundred meter in NYC. Located in the heart of the Fashion District, Manhattan’s most innovative Rooftop Lounge, The Skylark. This Rooftop Lounge offers panoramic views including Times Square, an exclusive cocktail menu and small bites for an after-work or evening date. The interior is sophisticated and warm because of its unique architectural details. I find this Rooftop very chique and fashionable and I’m sure it provides you a memorable experience.

Midtown West | 200 W 39th St (bet. 7th Ave & 8th Ave)

Enjoy your cocktail and the breath-taking views at your favorite Rooftop!
