2014
You’ve been a f ** king amazing travel year! Twenty times I packed my suitcases. Eighteen different countries. Sometimes to the other side of the world. Sometimes close to home. Almost countless hours I sat on the plane. Staring through the window. Already fantasising about the destination. I was able to see indescribably beautiful places and meet wonderful people. Travelling has made me again a bit wiser.
Thank you!
Without your GirlsLove2Travel is of course nothing. Thanks for your support, thank you for reading our stories and thank you for following us. That’s why we are doing what we do. That’s what truly makes us happy.
My travel year 2014
So nice to go through all of my travel photos from last year. All the memories come alive again, as if it was yesterday. Below I put together a list of all my trips from last year. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did:)
I wish you an adventurous 2015 with lots of travels. Full of love and health.

FEBRUARY
Canada | Whistler Blackcomb
Almost never ending slopes without mass crowds of people. Powder snow where you sink into to your knees. Snowboarding in Whistler was a long-cherished wish has been fulfilled. Pure powder heaven!
MARCH
Israel | Road Trip
A country with many faces and a rich and controversial history. The famous Jerusalem, trendy Tel Aviv with a fantastic nightlife, the beautiful Bahi gardens and stunning Jaffa.
APRIL
Morocco | Chefchaouen
The Smurfs lookalike village of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains is stunning! Walking around the narrow streets feels like you have traveled back in time. Make sure to bring a big memorial card for your camera, because here you just keep on shooting photos.
Spain | Sevilla
In April it was here already almost 30 degrees. In the city you see the Arabic influences everywhere in the architecture. Cheerful colours, mosaics and minarets. It’s a postcard city full of squares where you can enjoy tapas and sangria in the sun.
MAY
Turkey | Alaçti (Cesme)
While many people are a fan of Turkey, I never went there. I was full of (unjustified) prejudices. Oh boy you surprised me Alaçati! With your beauty, your delicious food, with your surfing and last but not least; you amazingly decadent luxury jet.
JUNE
Italy, Greece, Turkey | Mediterranean cruise
Never thought I’d find cruising so much fun. My idea of cruising was doing nothing all day, except eat and drink. And that’s not really my thing. I was so wrong. Sports, dancing, swimming, spa massages and strolling in the cities where the ship stops. Nothing wrong with a floating city :)
Philippines | island hopping
I did’t hesitate for a second when I received the invitation to go to the Philippines. For years it was at the top of my wishlist. Modern Manila, the countless beautiful islands and the Philippine locals are super sweet. And the island of Palawan … I fell head over heals in love with you!
Hong Kong | flash trip one day
On the way back home from to the Philippines, I flew via Hong Kong. With a stopover of 12 hours I had just enough time to explore the city. Hong Kong you’re truly amazing!
JULY
Scotland | extreme sports
While strolling through the streets of Edinburgh sometimes it seemed as if I was on the set of one of the Harry Potter films. Further north, I went rappelling waterfalls, mountain biking and I did canyoning through the icy water. Gotta love extreme sports!
Italy | Milan
Milan is one of my favourite European cities. This time I did not go to the tourist center, but to Navigli. An area with a lot of street art and hidden bars. All with with a slightly raw edge.
Belgium | Ostend
Of course I knew the Netherlands is a fantastic festival country and also in Belgium they know the drill. For two days I partied at Ostend Beach. And the best recipe to cure your hangover? A walk on the beach with my cute Rio and then eat mussels!
SEPTEMBER
Great Britain | Newcastle
Vi and I went took the boat to Newcastle for a weekend to visit our sweet Fiek. And we took our little man Yale with us. So nice to see the new hometown of Fiek with their own eyes.
Peru | Lima, Cusco and the Amazon
I just can’t stop talking about Peru. What a great country! The raw mountains of the Andes with colours so bright that it seems like everything is edited with photoshop. I traveled from Lima to Cusco and to the jungle. And of course Machu Pichu. No words needed ….
OCTOBER
Germany | Hamburg
A reunion with the girls that I to Curacao with last year. From beginning to end I enjoyed spending time with them and Hamburg.
Portugal | triathlon in the Algarve
Our first international triathlon adventure was hard. Swimming in a rough sea, cycling with the hot sun on your head and running through the sand. Blood, sweat and tears, but I finished as 3rd of the women. Pretty proud of myself:)
NOVEMBER
Iceland | road trip
Iceland was also a long-held dream of mine. Everything in the country is breathing primal. It is impressive raw and vulnerable beautiful at the same time. And the food … OMG! We were so impressed by the country that we have written the entire month of November about it.
DECEMBER
Spain | Valencia
Valencia is almost my second home away from home. It feels like Amsterdam but with sunshine, a fantastic beach and tapas :)
France | Paris
As we speak I’m in Paris. A romantic trip with my boyfriend. Most of my trips I do without him, and I sometimes miss him a lot. He is just as crazy about traveling as I am, so we always make sure that we can travel together as much as we can.
Xmas in NYC…wow!
Dankjewel meis. Can’t wait:)) Jij al fijne reisplannen? Lfs
Snowboarden in Japan?
Lfs
What an incredible year! Can’t wait to read more about what’s to come in 2015! http://nomoneywilltravel.com/2014/12/30/24-hours-in-berlin-no-problem/
It deff was Andrea. 2015 is mostly open for any adventure that comes along. First trip will be Thailand in January. Just checked out your blog, LOVE it! Have a great NYE! love Manon
