For months I have been looking forward to this trip to Austria with Rio and my love. We knew where we wanted to go long and also the outdoor gear for Rio was already arranged. The only thing still missing was accommodation. Minor detail:) It was quite difficult to find something that exactly filled our needs, but we found the most beautiful chalet in the Kitzbüheler Alps!
Chalet im Brixental
I’ve always wanted to stay in a wooden chalet. And even though I’ve been in Austria many times it took until now for that dream to come true! Our cozy chalet is build on a hill surrounded by nature with a stunning view. Rio literally has its own huge playground :) The closest town Wörgl is located in the valley, only a 10 minute drive away. Nowadays, many chalets are made of wooden planks, but this chalet is actually built of trees.
Chalet im Brixental is a small holiday park with only 8 chalets scattered across the mountain. They all have plenty privacy, it seems like you’re the only guest. It’s ideal for hikers (Kitzbüheler Alps are an outdoor walhalla), nature lovers or if you fancy a romantic getaway. I think it’s also a great place to stay for families with kids. And in winter the Kitzbüheler Alps have 275 kilometers of slopes!
Oh and we are in love with the kitchen! It’s big and has all the equipement you could wish for. At home in Amsterdam we go out for dinner quite often, but here we only did it ones. It’s so much more fun to cook in our own chalet. After a long day of hiking in the mountains we hit the shower, put on our pj’s turn on Narcos (our favorite series from the moment) and just chill. Love it!
We’ve got only 2 more nights to go, but I could seriously live here :)
